Gujarat accounts for 12% of the apparels exported from India. Manufacturers also indicated that they are facing stiff competition from their counterparts in Bangladesh and Vietnam according to data provided by Apparel Exports Promotion Council (AEPC).

The Apparel Exports Promotion Council (AEPC) inaugurated its office in Ahmedabad on Tuesday to boost apparel exports from Gujarat. State chief secretary, JN Singh, along with state principal secretary (education) Sunaina Tomar were present at the inauguration ceremony on GujaratChamber of Commerce and Industries (GCCI) premises.

On the sidelines of the inauguration, GCCI also announced its international exhibition named 'Farm to Fashion' to promote textile and apparel industry of the state. The exhibition will be held in the second week of March 2018.
