Where is polypropylene fiber produced in the world?

The largest producer of polypropylene fabric is China followed by other Asian countries like India, Pakistan and Indonesia. European and other Middle East countries like Germany, Italy, France, Mexico and Belgium also produce this plastic fiber.

The production of polypropylene is expected to make significant progress of about 59% in the coming five years. The production capacity of the fiber was noted as 83.44 million tonnes per annum for the year 2019 and is foreseen to increase and reach to about 132.49 million tonnes per annum by 2024.

The most significant polypropylene production company is Netherlands based Lyondellbasell which produced about 6.5 million tonnes of resin in 2016. The second and the third position is acquired by Beijing based manufacturers Sinopec Group and PetroChina Group.
