Modal fiber is widely used in apparel as a replacement of cotton or silk and may also be blended with cotton, wool, and other synthetic fibers.

• Apparel: Modal is widely employed in the apparel sector and used for making underwear, scarves, shawls, socks and stockings, activewear, outerwear and nightwear. The modal fabric possesses high wicking property and is widely used in sportswear and swimwear. Another property that is breathability and absorbency also makes it a suitable alternative to cotton.

• Home Textiles: Tablecloths, bedding, bathrobes, upholstery, and home furnishings.

• Industrial Textiles: Tire cords, abrasive ground fabric and rubber cloth are some of the areas where modal is used.
