Where is a banana fabric produced in the world?

India is the largest cultivator of bananas followed by China and produces about 28.4 million tonnes per year. While India is the largest manufacturer of banana fiber, Philippines is the native region. Other countries where banana fiber is produced includes Japan, Brazil, Costa-Rica and Nepal.

While western countries such as the United States and Britain import most of this fiber from the Asian countries. Japan and the Philippines use the banana fabric extensively in the production of their ceremonial garments.
