In China, prices of 40s compact siro-spun yarn in Jiangsu were lifted in Yuan terms in the fourth week of March, however, unchanged in US terms due to weak currency while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan were up US cents 2 a kg on the week.
Viscose spun yarn prices climbed steadily in China on firm cost support and favourable downstream buying activity. Rotor-spun, sing-spun and core-spun yarn liquidity however, remained lackluster, while vortex-spun, siro-spun and compact & siro-spun yarn performances were favorable. Offers for compact & siro-spun yarn were lifted while ring-spun yarn offers were hiked.
In India, spun viscose yarn prices gained INR2 in line with the recent rise in fibre prices. In the meantime, spun viscose prices have risen 5.7%. 30s viscose spun yarn prices were raised further by INR2 a kg (up US cents 6 a kg, also due to strong INR) in Indore market.
In Pakistan, viscose yarn producers had previously reduced their stocks and were not willing to lower their offers, as a result. 30s viscose yarn price was unchanged during the week in Karachi market.
