In China, offers for ring‐spun 30s weaving yarn in Xiaoshan fell US cents 2 a kg in the second week of May, while compact siro‐spun 40s yarn in Jiangsu declined US cents 3 a kg on the week.
Spun viscose yarn markets were stable‐to‐weak that week as VSF prices retreated slightly in China and Pakistan that week. In China, discussions for ring‐spun 30s yarn were range bound while prices for Fujian‐origin siro‐spun 40s yarn were seen sobering. On the other hand, the numbers for rabbit‐hair‐like yarn 28s were stable.
In Pakistan, viscose yarn prices rolled over despite the slight fall in VSF cost. Viscose yarn prices has remained unchanged over past four weeks while VSF cost have retreated 0.4% meanwhile. This implies, margins are positive for yarn makers.
In India, viscose yarn prices rolled over on flat VFS numbers although talks were a bit lower amid sluggish demand.
