In China, prices of 40s compact siro-spun yarn in Jiangsu were up US cents 6 a kg in the first week of March while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan were up US cents 3 a kg. Cash-based offers for ring-spun 30s yarn were up US cents 4 a kg on the week.
Spun viscose yarn prices were driven up by firmer VSF sentiment in China. Offers ring-spun 30s and siro-spun 40s yarn were mostly hiked touching high-end of market levels.
Upstream, VSF prices continued to maintain their uptrend for the ever since beginning of 2016. Until last week, VSF have gained closed to 5.6% in Yuan term and 6% in US$ term.
In India, viscose yarn prices rolled over after inching up last week, but stronger INR that week pegged prices higher in US$ terms. 30s viscose spun yarn prices edged up US cents 2 a kg due to strong INR in Indore market.
In Pakistan, 30s viscose yarn price was unchanged in Karachi market.
