In Xiaoshan, 30s spun viscose prices in Xiaoshan inched up US cents 3 a kg in the second week of September while 40s compact sirospun yarn prices in Jiangsu were stable on the week.
Viscose spun yarn prices generally remained unchanged across India, China and Pakistan markets, but weakening currency against US$ pegged prices in US$ terms lower in India and Pakistan. In Jiangsu, core-spun yarn prices mostly climbed and it was reported that the deliveries to Puyuan market were favorable.
In India, demand for viscose yarn in domestic market was modest but was heading up rapidly in exports. In July, exports jumped 50% in volume and value, with Iran and Belgium picking up most of the shipment. 30s viscose spun yarn fell US cents 2 a kg (due to weak INR) on the week.
In Pakistan, viscose yarn prices were almost stable despite a rise in VSF prices, which implies weak demand. 35s and 40s viscose yarn prices were both down US cents 2 due to weak currency in Karachi market.
