In China, offers for ring‐spun 30s weaving yarn in Xiaoshan and compact siro‐spun 40s yarn in Jiangsu were both up US cents 3 a kg due to weak US$ in the first week of June.
Viscose spun yarn prices were stable to slightly down in China in local currency, however, weak US$ pushed prices up on the week. Meanwhile, prices rolled over in India and Pakistan. Core-spun yarn prices were largely stable, with smooth liquidity, seeing buyers purchasing actively. Liquidity in siro‐spun yarn market also improved, especially for 40s yarn. Ring‐spun yarn market performance was lackluster, with discussions for 30s range bound.
In Pakistan, rise in seasonal demand was reported for viscose yarns in Faisalabad market with prices rolling over on support of stable upstream VSF market.
In India, prices of viscose yarn generally rolled over as strong INR posed threat for exports.
