In China, mainsntream prices of 40s compact siro-spun yarn in Jiangsu remained unchanged while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan fell US cents 4 a kg in the second week of January.
In China, spun viscose yarn prices stopped declining, with offers partially adjusted up on support of bottoming out of VSF prices.
Offers for siro-spun 40s yarn rolled over with some mills reportedly raised offers given the firmness in VSF markets later in the week.
In Fujian, spun rayon yarn prices stopped declining, with offers partially adjusted up. Mills gradually made their pre-holiday restocking of VSF, given the upswing in price the second half of the week.
In India, viscose yarn prices in Indore market rolled over after gaining INR1 a kg last week. 30s viscose spun yarn edged down US cent 1 a kg (due to weak INR) in Indore market.
Similarly, viscose yarn prices did not move in Pakistan as operating rates were further lowered at spinning mills, partly due to power shortages.
