In China, prices of 40s compact siro-spun yarn in Jiangsu were lifted up US cents 4 a kg in the second week of March while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan were up US cents 3 a kg. Offers for ring-spun 30s yarn were at US$2.77-2.85 a kg.
In China, spun viscose yarn prices kept rising in tandem with higher VSF prices. Offers for ring-spun 30s were mostly hiked by US cents 3 a kg. Offers for Fujian-origin siro-spun 40s yarn were up US cents 4 a kg on the week.
In India, although VSF prices remained unmoved they supported viscose yarn prices. However, stronger currency pegged viscose yarn dearer in US$ term. 30s viscose spun yarn prices were up US cents 2 a kg due to strong INR in Indore market.
In Pakistan, the rolling over of viscose yarn prices continued on support of firmness in China market. Yarn markets were supported by energy shortages and a consecutive fall in production. However, with production expected to rebound as seasonal energy shortages end, it would be difficult for spinners to raise their offers.
