In China, mainstream prices of 40s compact siro-spun yarn in Jiangsu rolled over in the first week of February while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan inched US cents 3 a kg.
Selling ideas for spun viscose yarn were reported steady amid thin liquidity. In China, viscose yarn makers generally maintained stable production, and gradually stopped business for holiday from early February.
In upstream VSF market too, the holiday atmosphere was strong while and some logistics issues were being addressed and offers saw some rise. This supported viscose yarn makers to hike offers during the week.
In India, viscose yarn prices were seen rising in Indore market implying revival of demand in the region. 30s viscose spun yarn prices were also up INR1 a kg (up US cent 1) in Indore market.
In Pakistan, the recent drop in VSF prices is likely to reflect in viscose yarn prices soon, but strong demand has kept them stable that week. 30s viscose yarn price was unchanged in Karachi market during the week.
