In China, offers for ring‐spun 30s weaving yarn in Xiaoshan fell US cents 3 a kg in the second week of April, while compact siro‐spun 40s yarn in Jiangsu declined US cents 4 a kg on the week.
Viscose spun yarn prices continued to trend south in China and Pakistan as VSF prices fell further with no signs of bottoming out. In China, discussions for ring‐spun 30s yarn generally fell while siro‐spun 40s yarn were also cheaper. Core‐spun yarn market remained dismal, with the prices holding back.
In Pakistan, viscose yarn prices declined reflecting the further drop in VSF prices in the week. Chinese buyers were showing buying interest and large orders are likely to be placed for siro yarns.
In India, viscose yarn prices were strongly support by the stability in VSF prices as participants held the view that enquiring atmosphere was picking up. Overall, it is expected that prices will remain stable to down in coming week, unless VSF prices bottom out.
