In China, offers for ring‐spun 30s weaving yarn in Xiaoshan declined US cents 3 a kg in the last week of May while compact siro‐spun 40s yarn in Jiangsu also fell US cents 3 on the week.
Viscose spun yarn markets were stable to weak in China while liquidity of vortex‐spun yarn and siro‐spun yarn slightly improved. Prices for siro‐spun yarn and ring‐spun yarn were down on the week as VSF prices generally stepped into a range bound period. Siro-spun rayon yarn performance slightly better.
In Pakistan, viscose yarn prices remained relatively stable in the week on domestic and export markets. However, trend was relatively depressed, due firm cost of imported fibre in the past weeks.
In India, viscose yarn prices were much more stable, given the stability in VSF cost. However, yarn exports were much less competitive on the international market, especially on a very depressed yarn import market in China.
