In China, mainstream prices of 40s compact siro-spun yarn in Jiangsu were up US cents 3 a kg in the third week of February while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan were also up US cents 3 a kg. Cash-based offers for siro-spun 40s yarn were at US$2.99-3.02 a kg.
Viscose spun yarn prices mostly rose after the festival. In Fujian, local cotton spinning mills had mostly resumed production. Trading activity was gradually picking up.
Viscose fiber prices have sharply risen in the first days after new-year holidays in China. Raw material VSF prices have gained 1.8% since the return from the break. After heavily falling in the last quarter of 2015 VSF prices had bottomed out by mid-January.
In India, viscose yarn prices remained unchanged but weaker currency pegged US$ pricing down on the week. 30s viscose spun yarn prices were down US cent 1 due to weak INR in Indore market.
In Pakistan too, prices generally rolled over in a dull trading week. 30s viscose yarn price was unchanged in Karachi market during the week.
