In Jiangsu, 30s spun viscose prices in Xiaoshan inched up US cents 2 a kg in the second week of August while 40s compact sirospun yarn prices were up US cents 4 a kg on the week. Viscose spun yarn prices were largely stable to up in China, despite the continuing uptick in VSF cost. In China, due to sparse VSF availability, local mills cut run rates and in turn raised offers, which met with some resistance. Offers for ring‐spun 30s yarn were raised US cents 2 while VSF prices were up US cents 2-3 a kg.
In Pakistan, viscose yarn prices surged as import price of VSF were up in line with the firmness in prices in China while domestic demand for yarn remained a bit subdued since cotton prices were also sluggish. 35s viscose yarn prices were stable while 40s were up PakRs7 a pound (up US cents 16 a kg) in Karachi market.
In India, VSF prices rolled over, supporting viscose yarn markets while demand for yarn remained modest.
