In China, offers for ring‐spun 30s weaving yarn in Xiaoshan fell US cents 5 a kg in the fourth week of May, while compact siro‐spun 40s yarn in Jiangsu also declined down US cents 5 a kg on the week.
Spun viscose yarn prices decreased further in China amid modest liquidity. Many yarn makers were facing high inventory pressure, and thus mostly mulled to extend holidays for the upcoming Dragon Boat festival. However, with VSF prices likely to bottom out, yarn markers may get cost support and few may raise offers slightly.
In Pakistan, viscose yarn prices edged down as VSF prices further declined in the week with import offers from China dropping and domestic prices losing more than yarn price reduction. 35s viscose yarn prices edged down PakRe1 per pound (down US cents 2 a kg) and 40s fell PakRs2 a pound (down US cents 5 a kg) in Karachi market.
In India, viscose yarn prices inched up domestic market, and given the INR strengthening, prices in US$ terms regained previous loss. 30s viscose spun knitting yarn price inched up INR1 a kg (up US cents 3 also due to weak US$).
