In India, polyester yarn 30 knitting yarns prices in the third week of January were down US cents 6 a kg, due to weak INR, in Ludhiana market while they fell US cents 4 a kg in Indore, also due to weak INR.
In Ludhiana, prices have again lost INR2 on the week or about 6 cents per kg, as the INR was eventually sliding.
In Qianqing, offers for 32s polyester yarn prices rolled over on the week, and those for 45s remained unchanged.
Offers for polyester yarn were kept stable in China and trading atmosphere was thin after as more producers shut down units and only offloaded sporadic goods with no deal on credit.
There was low expectation on the future, so buyers showed limited interest to stock up before the Spring Festival. In contrast with cotton yarn prices, spun polyester prices in India steadily declined over the week.
In Pakistan, polyester yarn prices trended flat on the week, given the marginal support from domestic and export markets.
