In June, cotton fibre export was at 36 million kg or 210,000 bales (of 170 kg each) valued at US$56 million down 3 per cent as compared to the previous month. Bangladesh, China and Pakistan were the largest importers of cotton in June with combined volumes at 190,000 bales amongst the 12 countries that imported cotton from India.
Manmade fibre export declined marginally month on month in June to 18,750 kg, worth US$27 million or INR170 crore and these included ASF, PSF, VSF and PPSF. USA was the largest importer of PSF during June while Turkey and Iran were the major importer of VSF, in similar comparison. Iran and China were dominant buyers of ASF. The other importers of ASF were Vietnam, Kenya, Bulgaria, Mauritius, Algeria and Turkey.
