In China, spot liquid good offers were flat in the first week of December while solid goods were down US$6 a ton on the week. The SE and FE Asian caprolactum markers on the lower end were stable during the week.
Caprolactum prices in Asia were firm as supply was adequate during the week. In China, CPL offers were stable that week on firm demand. Prices were also supported by strong upstream benzene cost. Domestic run rate was at 79.9% that week, up from previous week.
China imported 21,000 tons of CPL in October 2017, and the cumulative import volume from January to October was at 204,000 tons.
Overall, CPL market is likely to remain stable given firmer benzene and expectations on increasing supply.
