Caprolactum market sees mixed prices in Asia

YarnsandFibers News Bureau, 05-07-2016 17:02 -

Asian markers, the SE and FE declined US$10-40 a ton in the fourth week of June. In China, offers for liquid spot rose US$25 a ton while solid goods offers were up US$40 a ton on the week.

Caprolactum markets were mixed that week as prices firmed in China on the back of range‐bound raw material, while they were subdued in other markets due to weak demand. Both, Sinopec and Fibrant raised their nominations for June, pushed by existing losses.

In China, liquid CPL offers were up on the week while mainstream values for low‐end solid goods were quoted higher. Downstream demand remained modest as run rates at polymerization units were maintained at 75% while yarn makers were still around 70%, with inventory up to 30‐32 days’ worth.
