In India, ASF offers were reduced INR3 to INR126-128 a kg or US$1.89-1.92 a kg.
In China, medium-length staple and cotton-type staple fiber prices were both down US cents 1-2 due to weak Yuan.
Jilin Chemical Fiber maintained its list prices for January with 1.5D at US$2.00 a kg, 3D medium-length at US$2.00 a kg, while tow was at US$2.09 a kg and top at US$2.24 a kg.
Acrylic staple fibre offers were maintained stable in China and Pakistan while they moderated in India. Cost eased as upstream acrylonitrile prices declined. Downstream, yarn production was stable, and buying interest was passable.
Overall, liquidity of staple fiber was fair, and that of tow and top was stable, on the back of steady demand. However, liquidity at yarn makers was modest due to limited orders from the terminal.
In China, mainstream producers rolled over offers, while downstream buyers maintained hand-to-mouth procurement. In coming week, it is expected that ASF market will move sideways on easing cost.
Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow was offered flat at US$1.60-1.70 a kg while offers for regular products were partially pegged at US$1.56-1.60 a kg.
In Pakistan, 1.2D ASF prices rolled over on the week.
