In China, medium-length staple fiber and cotton-type staple prices rolled over in the first week of June.
Jilin Chemical Fiber released ASF settlement prices for May with 1.5D at 12.75 Yuan a kg (US$1.94 a kg), medium‐length at 12.70 Yuan a kg (US$1.93 a kg) and tow at 13.50 Yuan a kg (US$2.05 a kg).
Acrylic staple fibre prices stayed unchanged on the week despite upstream acrylonitrile cost surging during the week. In China, fresh ASF list prices for early June were released, flat over May settlement prices.
In the H1 of the week, transactions were as usual, while in the H2 market mentality was underpinned by maintenance plans released by producers and thus enquiries warmed up.
Downstream yarn and fabric sectors remain in off-season, and mills tended to cut run rates due to the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival.
In India, prices were range bound on the week. ASF offers were down US cent 1 a kg due to weak INR on the week.
In Pakistan, 1.2D ASF prices were stable during the week.
