In China, medium-length staple fiber and cotton-type staple prices rolled over in the second week of May.
Anqing Petrochemical and Qilu Petrochemical nominated 1.5D cotton-type fiber at 12.45 Yuan a kg (US$1.91 a kg) and 12.05 Yuan a kg (US$1.85 a kg), respectively.
Acrylic staple fibre prices managed to remain range bound in Asian markets although downstream buying interest was low for lack of bullish signs and positive expectations.
Upstream, rising acrylonitrile prices also supported ASF markets to hold prices firm. However, sentiment generally changed marginally and overall trading atmosphere was insipid as downstream demand was lackluster with weak performances in yarn and fabric segments.
In India, ASF offers were down US cent 1 a kg due to weak INR.
In Pakistan, 1.2D ASF prices were unchanged on the week.
