In China, medium-length staple fiber and cotton-type staple prices were steady in the last week of April.
Anqing Petrochemical and Qilu Petrochemical nominated 1.5D cotton-type fiber at 12.45 Yuan a kg (US$1.93 a kg) and 12.05 Yuan a kg (US$1.87 a kg), respectively.
Acrylic staple fibre prices rolled over firmly given the rise in acrylonitrile cost and stable downstream demand.
Downstream buyers mainly covered their immediate requirements due to thin orders while overall market atmosphere was just modest.
In China, ASF producers maintained stable prices on the back of reduced supplies, to cope with poor order intakes.
Downstream yarn and fabric sentiment was bearish amid the off-season in April to May, but rigid needs from downstream mills guaranteed stable run rates.
