In the third week of November, offers for cotton-type staple fiber were steady at US$1.94-2.06 a kg in China while medium-length staple were at US$1.95-2.06 a kg.
Jilin Chemical Fiber’s list prices for November rolled over with 1.5D at US$2.06 a kg, 3D medium-length at US$2.05 a kg, tow at US$2.13 a kg and top at US$2.27 a kg.
Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow prices were pegged stable at US$1.65-1.80 a kg.
Acrylic staple fibre prices moved flat on the week as upstream, acrylonitrile prices continued to firm a bit, further eroding ASF producers’ margins.
In China, major producers maintained stable offers in domestic market. Downstream, yarn makers maintained normal production, and buying interest was restored somewhat.
Overall, trading sentiment improved on the back of downstream demand recovery, so industrial inventory level dropped slightly.
In India, discussion atmosphere remained subdued, although downstream demand picked up a bit. ASF offers were steady at INR129-131 a kg or US$1.95-2.00 a kg.
In Pakistan, 1.2D ASF prices rolled over at US$2.28 a kg, down US cents 2.
