YarnsandFibers News Bureau, 14-01-2016 12:34 -

In China, medium-length staple fiber prices remained unchanged while cotton-type staple rolled over in the last week of December 2015.

Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow prices were unchanged at US$1.60-1.70 a kg.

Jilin Chemical Fiber maintained its list prices for January with 1.5D at US$2.03 a kg, 3D medium-length at US$2.02 a kg, same as in December while tow was up US cents 1 to US$2.11 a kg and top up US cents 2 at US$2.26 a kg.

Acrylic staple fibre offers and prices were maintained stable that week despite cost of acrylonitrile slightly dropped, but pressure on cash flow remained high.

Downstream, yarn production was stable and buying interest was passable. Overall, liquidity of staple fiber was fair, and that of tow and top was stable, on the back of steady demand.

Mainstream producers rolled over offers, while downstream buyers maintained hand-to-mouth procurement.

In Pakistan, after the fall in the fourth week of December, 1.2D ASF prices rolled over on the week.
