In China, medium-length staple fiber and cotton-type staple prices remained unchanged in the last week of July. Sinopec released settlement prices for July for 1.5D ASF which was unchanged and 3D tow was stable. Acrylic staple fibre markets remained stable in Asia as producers in China gradually issued monthly settlement prices, flat to the current list prices. Orders remained scant, without bullish signs in sight.
However, trading atmosphere was thin while offers were hiked, but no trade was concluded, given high resistance. Downstream yarn performance was lackluster and it is expected that demand from yarn sector will remain on need‐to basis.
ASF prices in India and Pakistan rolled over during the week.
