Acrylic staple fiber prices in Asian markets generally rolled over in the third week of January. Since Spring Festival was drawing closer, many downstream mills in China had left for holidays, leading to thinner demand. On the other hand, ASF producers mainly delivered goods or fulfilled previous orders.
Markets sentiment is likely to pick up after the Spring Festival. ASF prices in India and Pakistan also rolled over on the week. Overall demand was lusterless. Seeing high run rate against lackluster demand, ASF producers will continue to suffer some margin losses given the firming acrylonitrile cost.
In Pakistan, 1.2D ASF prices rolled over on the week.
In India, offers remained unchanged during the week.
