In China, medium-length staple fiber prices jumped US cents 2-7 a kg in the last week of March while cotton-type staple rose US cents 3 a kg.
Acrylic staple fibre spot prices were stable during the week in Asian markets. Buying interest of downstream mills remained subdued, reflecting lackluster outlook of yarn and fabric, without any bullish factors.
In China, run rate dropped that week as Ningbo Zhongxin was on planned maintenance shutdown, tightening overall supply somewhat.
Sinopec issued monthly settlement prices, in accordance with monthly average price, and fresh list prices were flat to mid March level. Some ASF producers tended to make supplementary price hikes later.
In India, ASF offers were up US cents 2 a kg due to strong INR during the week.
In Pakistan, 1.2D ASF prices were pegged stable on the week.
