Asian acrylonitrile marker, the CFR Far East Asia rolled over in the last week of March while Southeast Asia was steady. In China, sporadic offers for offshore cargoes were at US$930-950 a ton CFR China, but buyers were noncommittal to deep‐sea cargoes due to long freight period.
Acrylonitrile prices in Asian markers were steady for the second consecutive week amid thin trading as buyers were on the sidelines, awaiting overseas offers. Sell ideas for cargoes were up on high feedstock cost. In China, spot prices saw up and down that week underpinned by response to low domestic values.
In US, acrylonitrile spot inched higher on feedstock, marking the first increase since 1 January as demand further strengthened. US acrylonitrile export assessment rose US$5 a ton FOB USG on the week.
European acrylonitrile market awaited propylene April settlement as March contract price was settled at a rollover. European acrylonitrile spot prices were also flat after jumping last week.
