Asian acrylonitrile prices rolled over in the last week of May. Acrylonitrile prices were stable week on week in Asian markets, amid thin discussions due to regional holidays.
In US, ACN spot fell reflecting drop in propylene contract price while export activity was quiet. US acrylonitrile export price was down US$5 a ton FOB USG on the week.
In China, offers for offshore cargoes were stable while Indian ACN was steady on the week. ACN spot values in China saw ups and downs during the week with sellers raising offers early in the week on the news of Qila’s outage, but pessimistic outlook continued to dominate the market, as market fundamental remained less favorable.
European ACN prices held steady amid supply tightness and there were hardly any offers in the market. Prices were stable in spite of bearish propylene market where June contract price was fully settled lower on the month.
