The Spanish fashion brand Zara is expanding its services in France. Starting from September 7th, Zara's customers in France will be able to use a platform called Zara Pre-Owned on the Zara website and app. This platform allows people to sell, repair, or donate their pre-owned Zara clothing.
The goal is to encourage circular fashion practices, which means making clothes last longer and reducing waste. France is the second country, after the United Kingdom, to have this service.
On the platform, you can see pre-owned Zara items organized by category, and there's detailed information about each item, including pictures from the seller.
Paula Ampuero, who is in charge of sustainability at Zara.com, believes that innovation is important for a more sustainable future. They are working on finding and using solutions to make their fashion chain more sustainable.
These efforts are part of a plan to reduce the carbon emissions of the Inditex Group (Zara's parent company) by more than 50% by 2030. They also aim to be carbon neutral by 2040, with a 90% reduction in emissions.
