Yarn Expo Shenzhen to host an in-person event in July

In fear of the pandemic in-person trade shows continue to be delayed. The inaugural of yarn Expo Shenzhen kicks off on July 15 with 115 exhibitors gathering in the province of Guangdong.

Shenzhen, a city in China that links mainland China to Hong Kong, will host the Shenzhen World Exhibition and convention center in agreement with the China International Fashion Fair (CHIC), Intertextile Apparel Fabrics and PH Value, an event exclusive to knitted apparel and accessories.

Event organizer Messe Frankfurt stated that having CHIC and PH Value on board the Yarn Expo will represent the first stop for the entire apparel supply chain.

The debut show in Shenzhen is to showcase the biannual show in Shanghai. The event is scheduled to take place in hall 10 of the convention center between 15-17 July.

The Sub-Council of Textile Industry, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the China Chemical Fibers Association and the China Knitting Industrial Association along with Messe Frankfurt, Yarn Expo Shenzhen are responsible for organizing the event.

The company states that the extended edition of the Yarn Expo provides the yarn and fiber industry with an ideal gateway to capture the potential apparel market in south china and southeast Asia. This expo would not only open opportunities to tap into a new market but also help the industry recover and reconnect from the pandemic disruption.

The NRF’s Big show and Liberty Fair events have been either canceled or pushed back as the COVID-19 infections rise across the United States.

Messe Frankfurt and Yarn Expo Shenzhen organizers hope to bring the yarn and textile industry back together through the event. The demand for sustainable and antibacterial products will take priority in the expo due to the pandemic.

Claiming to be one of China’s leading cashmere yarn suppliers, the Consignee Group will use this expo to showcase a new line of sustainable and traceable cashmere yarn, which also includes an antibacterial yarn. Another Yarn Expo Shenzhen exhibitor will showcase a yarn blend of polylactic acid, creating a natural and biodegradable material while also having antibacterial properties. A diacetate yarn that is antibacterial and sustainable will also be exhibited at this expo by Shangdong Longrun Textile Ltd.

In order to host this event Yarn, Expo Shenzhen is expected to follow a variety of new health and safety protocols which include onsite temperature checks, frequent sterilization of common areas and distancing measures for the conferences, exhibitions and seminars held.
