Wrangler announces launch of global sustainability platform

Wrangler, American jeans and apparel brand, has launched WeCare Wrangler, a digital platform that will educate customers about the company’s sustainability priorities, ongoing measures, and collaborations focused around three main themes: planet, product, and people.

According to the company, by 2025, the company expects to use 100% organic cotton and 100% renewable energy to power its buildings, as well as a 50% decrease in water usage by 2030.

The company has launched a new line of denim made from natural fabrics and recycled hardware to coincide with the platform’s launch. Retro Green Jeans collection, a line that gives its bestselling denim a sustainable upgrade, to further demonstrate its dedication to more responsible-made denim. Hemp, pre-consumer recycled fabric, and recycled hardware are used to reimagine men’s bootcut and straight thighs, as well as women’s high-rise skirts, trumpet flares, and slim jeans.

The global brand president of Wrangler, Tom Waldron said that Wrangler is concerned with what’s in the clothing. Respect for both the planet and the people who call it home is at the heart of their process for creating clothing that customers want. He adds that the WeCare Wrangler sustainability platform will serve as a path map for them as they work to guide the sector toward sustainable progress that has a positive effect on the environment and society.

The vice president of product development and direct procurement at Kontoor Brands, Jeff Frye said that they’re still searching for ways to collaborate with their clients and vendors to reduce their environmental impact. He adds that when they all come together, they will produce clothing that not only looks beautiful but also helps to save the land on which it was made.
