Wrangler, Accelerating Circularity launch recycled cotton jeans

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-03-12 16:06:23 – USA

Wrangler x Accelerating Circularity jeans, now available at Walmart, are proving that post-consumer and post-industrial cotton can be effectively reused in everyday clothing. As part of Accelerating Circularity’s U.S. recycling trials, 46 tons of used cotton—23 tons from consumers and 23 tons from factories—were processed into new fabric.

The newly launched Wrangler jeans contain 26% recycled cotton (evenly split between consumer and industrial waste), blended with virgin cotton and elastane to ensure comfort and durability. This marks a significant achievement in making recycled denim mainstream.

This project was made possible through a joint effort across the supply chain. Bank & Vogue collected used garments from consumers, while Martex handled industrial textile waste. The recycling process was carried out by Giotex & Estopas, followed by Parkdale spinning the yarn and Cone Denim weaving the fabric.

"This launch proves that circular fashion is no longer just a concept—it’s a reality," said Karla Magruder, founder of Accelerating Circularity. "By working together across the industry, we have demonstrated that old textiles can successfully be transformed into new products at a large scale."
