The Heimtextil India fair organized by Messe Frankfurt India was inaugurated by Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani at New Delhi on Tuesday, where Irani unveiled the world’s largest cushion at an exhibition.
Irani at the inauguration said that India’s home textile business this year has contributed 12 percent to the country’s overall shipments globally.
Heimtextil India offers an unique presentation platform to present latest developments in home textiles to a varied group of professional buyers from the Indian Subcontinent.
India witnessed a 30 percent increase in exhibitors this year, which shows the capacity of Indian businesses to come up with new ventures as well as the appetite of the country’s consumers or buyers.
A total of 180 companies from India, Bangladesh, China, Korea, Thailand and Nepal are participating in the Heimtexil and Ambiente India 2017 fair.
