Wools of New Zealand is a 100% grower-owned sales and marketing company owned by New Zealand sheep farmers to be unveiling its new fiber technology at the upcoming International Surface Event to be held on Jan. 20–23 at Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada USA.
The new technology which allows rugs made of New Zealand wool to be colored with pure gold. The proprietary process is called Aulana, and the technology’s science comes from early alchemical processes used to create the color in stained glass windows of Gothic cathedrals, Wools of New Zealand said.
Aulana uses gold to create color without dyes, shifting light into soft purples and grays. Aulana is simply pure New Zealand wool coloured with pure gold.
Aulana demands the cleanest, purest fibre which can deliver rich colour without fault. Laneve offers a level of integrity and quality that cannot be matched by other fibres. Laneve wool is grown by Wools of New Zealand's farmers who are part of the Laneve integrity programme. Each farm is signed and audited to strict rules on land management, animal welfare and transparency.
All Laneve textiles and carpets are fully traceable back to the farmers who grew the wool. Wools of New Zealand take special care of the land, the animals and the people to grow the world's finest wool.
Hallie Cobb, marketing and training director of Wools of New Zealand said that this is a new innovation in wool yarn. These rugs are a unique blend of precious metal and natural fiber to create an exclusive textile.
Aulana rugs and other introductions will be shown at Wools of New Zealand’s booth, S-6221, which includes booths of 23 Wools of New Zealand brand partners.
