WACKER is introducing a new product, LIOSIL® FC 3300 E silicone emulsion, at the 70th SEPAWA Congress in Berlin, Germany. This emulsion is designed to enhance the effectiveness of household fabric softeners. It contains an active silicone ingredient that strengthens the softening effect of fabric softeners, making clothes more absorbent and easier to iron.

LIOSIL® FC 3300 E is an emulsion with a high concentration of active ingredients. It's an odorless and colorless product that's straightforward to work with. To use it, you simply stir it into the fabric softener formula during the final stages of manufacturing. One noteworthy aspect of this new emulsion is that it combines various properties of existing products in the same line.

The active ingredient in this emulsion is a special silicone polymer with added polyether groups to make it hydrophilic, meaning it has an affinity for water. This results in fabric softeners formulated with LIOSIL® FC 3300 E improving the wetting properties of fibers, allowing fabrics to absorb more water. As a result, these fabric softeners are suitable for applications where rapid moisture absorption is crucial. Additionally, like traditional silicone additives, LIOSIL® FC 3300 E reduces friction, providing fabrics with a soft feel and making clothing easier to iron.

These effects, such as the soft feel of fabrics, ease of ironing, and improved absorbency, apply to both cotton and synthetic fibers. Unlike many fabric softeners available, which can make fabrics hydrophobic (repelling water), LIOSIL® FC 3300 E maintains cotton's absorbency and even enhances the absorbency of synthetics. This innovation paves the way for tailoring fabric softeners to meet consumer preferences more effectively.
