VEOCEL™ brand hydrophobic lyocell fibers combine high-performance with sustainability

The VEOCEL™ brand has released a new offering in its mission to create greater sustainability in the personal care and hygiene industry: VEOCEL™ branded lyocell fibers with Dry technology, which are naturally smooth and soft on the skin, guaranteeing comfort for sensitive skin.

Absorbent hygiene products are a necessary component of many people’s lives and are used on a regular basis. Because they are vital products, it’s critical that they provide the user with the most comfort and relief possible. This is demonstrated by new VEOCEL™ branded lyocell fibers, which may give a high degree of comfort, softness, and dryness when used in these sorts of goods.

Consumer expectations are increasingly shifting away from utilitarian requirements and toward natural materials and ingredient transparency. Consumers should never have to choose between usefulness, comfort, or sustainability, and it’s important that intimate goods deliver all three – as the new VEOCEL™ branded lyocell fibers can.

Dry technology by Lenzing permits cellulose VEOCEL™ branded lyocell fibers to achieve similar liquid-controlling qualities built on a biodegradable, botanic-derived substance, whereas most hydrophobic fibers are fossil-based fibers. The fibers are also mild on the skin and pleasant to the touch, making them ideal for skin-to-skin applications such as femcare and period care products, adult incontinence products, and infant diapers.

Vice President of Global Nonwovens Business at Lenzing, Jürgen Eizinger, said that they saw a growing trend among customers who are concerned about product components, so they developed a product that can provide both sustainability and performance. Their innovative VEOCEL™ Lyocell fibers with Dry technology are biodegradable and compostable, making them an environmentally responsible and high-quality alternative to fossil-based products. As a way of reducing the industry’s dependency on fossil-based resources in personal care products, the VEOCEL™ brand is constantly extending its capacities and innovations for wood-based specialty fibers.

According to a recent Stifel poll, 83% of customers feel it is critical for businesses to operate responsibly. This trend stems from a growing number of environmentally conscious consumers who are acutely aware of the environmental effect of throwaway items and are looking for alternatives. Environmentally friendly baby and femcare products are becoming increasingly popular among customers. To address this rising demand while also reducing environmental effects, VEOCEL™ branded fibers have been certified biodegradable and compostable under a variety of circumstances.

The hydrophobic VEOCEL™ trademarked lyocell fibers with Dry technology are not only ecologically beneficial, but they also give excellent comfort and a sense of dryness to the wearer by allowing for strategic fluid dispersion. This is a particularly important feature in absorbent hygiene products since it aids in the management of body fluids, keeping the surface dry and soft even after encountering liquid. Overall, this provides the wearer with a pleasant personal care experience and helps them to feel as though their skin is in contact with nature.
