Ventile, a Swiss sustainable textile manufacturer, has reported the increase in demand for its eco and organic fabric in the Asian market with sales accounting for 10% of all orders.
According to the company, the growing demand for sustainable fabric in Asia is a result of the increased number of conscious consumers, manufacturers, and distributors, who are looking for more environmentally-friendly textile alternatives.
Last June, the manufacturer recorded a total increase in sales of 94.5% within the Asian market. This was on the back of the brand's new partnership with South Korean distributor, Grimm International.
The brand director of Ventile, Daniel Odermatt, said that the collaboration with regional companies such as Grimm International will help the company grow. This will increase the reach and allow the company to engage with local customers.
“For over a decade, Ventile has successfully traded in the Asian market. In 2022 we made the decision to link up with Grimm International to support our growth in this location and the sales figures from the first year of our partnership have surpassed our expectations. We are thrilled to see such significant growth and are excited about the future opportunities this market holds,” said Odermatt.
“Ventile has proven a huge draw for the South Korean market. The excellent quality of the product and its rich heritage have quickly made it one of Grimm International’s premier brands,” added Grimm International chairman Allan Cho.
Ventile also collaborated with the Egyptian Biodynamic Association (EBDA) in April to advance the biodynamic cotton farming practices in Egypt. The Zurich-based firm will help in creating a traceable and transparent supply chain for its production activities.
