Velocio, renowned for its high-performance cycling gear, is relaunching its Velocio Renewed program, introducing a new trade-in option. This initiative offers a variety of refreshed, repurposed, and refurbished clothing, ready for a second round of use on the road.
First launched in August 2021, Velocio Renewed aims to extend the lifespan of apparel, reduce landfill waste, and increase customer choices. Partnering with Tersus Solutions for cleaning and repairs, and Archive for resale services, Velocio now offers a new trade-in option, an updated website, and a fresh selection of upgraded gear.
Sarah Leishman, Velocio’s General Manager, explains, “When we first launched Renewed in 2021, our goal was to give clothing a second chance instead of discarding it. Now, with Tersus and Archive, we’re enhancing every aspect of the process and launching a trade-in program to keep more apparel in use for longer.”
Velocio restores products received through trade-ins for store credit or returned via their Signature Guarantee and Returns program. The condition of items may vary—some show minor wear, while others need repairs for small tears or abrasions. Items that can’t be restored are donated or repurposed into other materials.
Peter Whitcomb, CEO of Tersus Solutions, states, “Our team at Tersus is pleased to support the relaunch of Velocio Renewed by applying our waterless cleaning and repair technology to their premium cycling apparel.”
After being cataloged, items undergo thorough cleaning to meet a “clean as new” standard using Tersus’ technology. They then go through quality checks and, if needed, are repaired by skilled technicians. Finally, products undergo a detailed quality assurance inspection before being ready for resale, ensuring full usability and a reduced carbon footprint.
