French sneaker label Veja has collaborated with New York-based label Mansur Gavriel to launch a sustainable footwear collection.

The aesthetics of the two companies merge in a collection that debuted in shops and online in the United States. The footwear duo created four eye-catching colorways of Veja's selling Campo shoe silhouette, all of which were inspired by the rainbow.

The partnership required a high level of saturation. Celeste is a pool blue with a rose-toned wash, Rosa is a rose-toned wash, Sunshine is a vivid yellow, and Crema is a creamy color. The line costs $175 and can be purchased on both brands' websites.

The shoes will be available for presale starting April 7 and will be released internationally on April 21.

The vulcanized sneaker sole is 65% recycled and bio-sourced (made of rice waste, Amazonian rubber and recycled rubber). The upper is constructed of ChromeFree leather, a Leather Alliance certification that indicates a chrome-free leather that is devoid of heavy metals and harmful acids used in the tanning process.

Veja team said that their collaborations are the consequences of projects they love, and people they meet and like. That is how we continue to create, exchange ideas, and discover new views. For the past ten years, they have been huge admirers of Mansur Gavriel. They're familiar with Mansur Gavriel's work; their timeless and current aesthetic, emphasizes craft and materials. They first met them two years ago and were immediately enthralled by the possibilities of what we could do together.
