Kaustubh Varma, CEO and Founder of Vardama inspired by nature set out on a conquest to incorporate Equa-Tek technology into fibers. The inspiration come when he was on a family trip in India and was stuck in his hotel room due to the rain. Looking out of the window he was admiring the way the leaves on a nearby plant were keeping itself dry and clean. It was at that time when he thought - what if his clothes were self-cleaning?

Creative Director & Co Founder Jorge Vega Umana, who is well known for his modern twist on minimalistic fashion, translates his vision of classic style to complement this revolutionary technology. He envision a sleek confident man wearing clean tailored lines, a man who is competitive, who knows what he wants and where he wants to be. For this collection he was inspired by one of his fashion icons Cary Grant. If he was alive today, he would be wearing Vardama, said Jorge.

Debuting select Men’s pieces at the Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week SS15, the company plans to introduce a women’s line in Fall 2015.

Equa-Tek garments are engineered in a way where the water is repelled on the outer surface while not affecting the natural characteristics such as breathability and hand fee.

Equa-Tek garments have been tested to perform for the life of the garment. Since the products are enhanced through the use of nanotechnology are able to transform the molecular structure of fibers on the nano level without changing the natural characteristics of the fabric.
