In keeping with its aim to use greener materials, California-based global lifestyle brand UGG®, has revealed its second carbon-neutral impact line for Spring/Summer 2022.
For the AW22 seasons, UGG unveiled sheepskin produced from regenerative agriculture farms.
The business claimed in a statement that three types are made from low-impact materials with carbon offsets purchased for the minimal amount of emissions they produce, making the materials carbon neutral. These are made from a looping blend of responsibly-harvested Tencel Lyocell and responsible wool standard-certified wool. Its outsoles are composed of sugarcane, which is a renewable resource.
UGG stated the company is on a journey toward a more regenerative future, and materials are a critical area where they can lessen their effect. The brand is aiming to incorporate creative, sustainable materials into its product line, highlighting these advancements through capsule collections like the Icon-Impact Collection and researching better replacements for commonly used materials.
