UGG launches boot made from regeneratively sourced materials

California-based global lifestyle brand, Ugg, has revealed its first-ever Classic Boot made from regeneratively sourced materials, conceptualized and developed with environmental impact in mind.

The Classic Mini Regenerate, which is made for both adults and kids, is made from materials from Atkins Ranch, a ranch that uses regenerative farming practices to rebuild soil, promote wildlife diversity, sequester carbon, and protect the land for future generations.

The shoes have a SugarSole outsole constructed from quickly expanding sugarcane that provides the same cushioning and grip as the brand’s iconic Treadlite by UGG outsole. The sheepskin used in the shoes is Land to Market-certified.

The Classic Mini Regenerate is also carbon-neutral thanks to the use of low-impact materials and the acquisition of offsets for the minor leftover emissions they produce.

Twenty acres of grassland will be converted into regenerative farmland for every Classic Mini Regenerate sold by UGG. In order to accomplish this, the company will donate to the Savory Institute $6 from the total sales of each pair of Classic Mini Regenerate sold in UGG retail stores and on UGG.com.

Lenise Omeasoo, an Indigenous artist, created a unique pair of boots that convey a tale of regenerative agriculture to commemorate the launch of the Classic Mini Regenerate. In honor of the home state of the UGG brand, Omeasoo incorporated plants and creatures found in California to create representations of a regenerating environment.

Nicks Ericsson, Senior Director of Brand Purpose at UGG, said that they believe regenerative agriculture can offer one approach to help the climate issue through practical action that can refill and rebuild the earth.
