Turkmenistan textile production has gained world fame. The country is known not only as a supplier of woolen carpets, as well as cotton and silk textiles of high quality. Turkmen Textile Industry Ministry on Jan.28 announced that Turkmenistan plan to commission two new cotton-spinning factories in the near future.

These facilities are being constructed by Norsel International Insaat Dis Ticaret Sanayi Limited which will commission them in February, 2014, according to the ministry.

The two new factories with annual capacity of 6,000 tons of cotton yarn each are located in the city of Seidi in Lebap province and in the Kunyaurgen district of Dashoguz province where the pre-commissioning works have entered the final stage.

Additionally, a cotton-spinning factory in the city of Turkmenabat with the designed capacity of about 4,000 tons of yarn per year is also in the pre-commissioning stage.

The largest cotton-spinning factories were commissioned in Turkmenistan over the last three years in the cities of Turkmenabat, Dashoguz, Geoktepe, as well as a textile complex in the Rukhabat district of Ashgabat use advances in high-tech. They are equipped with the newest equipment, allowing to cover the whole production cycle from raw material processing to finished products production, meet standards (including environmental), adopted in the world and focus on exports.

Countries as the USA, Canada, Russia, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Germany, China, Turkey, and Italy import textiles, produced in Turkmenistan.
