The Turkey textile industry which has been placed to be the world's second-largest product group in exports has recorded an 8% increase year-on-year in exports. They have hit $1.18 billion in July.
UludaÄŸ Exporters Union (UIB) and Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) data reports stated that the textile and ready-to-wear industry exported to over 150 countries in July.
The total exports have reached $8.79 billion in the first half of 2020 and have posted a 15% decrease compared to the previous year.
Germany was among the first countries to receive Turkish textiles in July with $349.1 million which has accounted for 15% increase year-on-year. Spain and U.K followed Germany with $248 million and $ 183 million respectively.
The exports in the US increased by 53% in the same time frame when compared to the previous year and has reached $109 million.
The overall exports in Turkey reached its highest in 202 as they have made over $15 billion amid a rapid recovery from the pandemic.
The country's Export Climate Index (ECI) for the manufacturing sector has experienced an incline in July.
