YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2024-07-17 15:49:15 – USA

Global engineered polymer group Trelleborg has announced the development of a new state-of-the-art facility for its engineered coated fabrics operations in Gateway West Commerce Park, Rutherford County, N.C. This site, part of the county’s vision for advanced manufacturing, will be Trelleborg’s second major facility in the area, reinforcing its position as an industry leader and significant local employer.

The new facility represents an initial investment of over $30 million and includes state-of-the-art production capabilities. It will be built to achieve LEED certification, ensuring carbon-neutral operations with zero emissions. Trelleborg aims to expand its use of bio-based polymers and recycled raw materials, aligning with its commitment to sustainability and aiding customers in meeting product circularity targets.

Steve Brockman, president of Trelleborg Engineered Coated Fabrics, emphasized the dual focus on sustainability and capacity, highlighting the positive impact on both customers and the local community. Rutherford County Board of Commissioners Chairman Bryan King and Isothermal Community College president Dr. Margaret Annunziata praised Trelleborg’s ongoing investment and community commitment. The new facility is expected to strengthen collaborations with local stakeholders and expand career opportunities, driving economic development in the region.
