Outerwear specialist, The North Face, plans to expand its resale business with a new partnership with Archive, a resale technology firm, and the integration of cleantech and logistics company Tersus Solutions.
Tersus' waterless cleaning technology will be used for items moving via The North Face Renewed, the brand's resale marketplace that started in 2018. Renewed will also have access to the company's warehouse logistics and operations in Denver, which include product cleaning, repair, and refurbishing.
Archive also collaborated with the company on the creation of a new website and user experience that incorporates Archive's technology that displays a garment's whole life cycle and enables for proper pricing.
Nicholas Thomas, senior manager of The North Face New Business Models, said that last year, The North Face announced new environmental commitments, and prioritizing their circular business models is a significant part of making these aspirations a reality.
Thomas added that they’re very happy that by working with Tersus Solutions and Archive, they will now have access to best-in-class circular operations and technology.
